Gingerbread Homes for Animals
A Holiday Exhibition and Fair December 2005
at the Dana Discovery Center of Central Park
One of a kind edible sculptures created by NYC's Leading Pastry Chefs to be featured on display and for raffle

A celebrated group of New York’s Leading Pastry Chefs will participate in the 2005 holiday season with GINGERBREAD HOMES FOR ANIMALS, an exhibition and fair at Central Park’s Dana Discovery Center, to benefit New York’s at-risk animal population. The event will feature each pastry maker’s creation of a unique gingerbread house, inspired by the urban wild or domesticated animals he or she loves. The one-of-a-kind edible sculptures will be sold by raffle during the fair.

GINGERGBREAD HOMES FOR ANIMALS is presented by Rational Animal and hosted by a list of prestigious city gourmets and animal-related organizations. Held in Central Park every December during the holiday season, its goal is to illuminate the plight of the city’s most needy wild and domesticated animal inhabitants and raise awareness and funds for projects that support them. In addition to the edible sculpture exhibit, the fair features animal-related crafts, face-painting for kids, baked goods and treats.
